Eurasian Journal of Applied Linguistics

Eurasian Journal of Applied Linguistics (EJAL) is a professional, double blind peer-reviewed international journal devoted to promoting dissemination of scholarly knowledge and exchange of academic research and professional findings on all aspects of second or foreign language (L2) learning and teaching. Due attention is paid to the teaching and learning of all languages as a second/foreign language. To this end, EJAL publishes theoretical and empirical studies in the form of original research, research reviews, case studies, conceptual frameworks, and innovative educational and social ideas with both regional and global perspectives. EJAL has a clear preference for manuscripts with strong theoretical foundation and tangible educational and research implications. We, therefore, invite original submissions from around the world that fit within this aim.

Authors are encouraged to submit complete, unpublished, original, and full-length articles that are not under review elsewhere. The online version of the journal is free to access and download. Printed version of the journal is unavailable for the time being.

Editorial announcement: The scope of EJAL

EJAL has been welcoming papers on all aspects of second or foreign language learning and teaching since its inception in 2015. Yet, an analysis of the articles published in the past issues has revealed compelling evidence that the number of the papers on teacher-education related issues outnumbers the ones that focused on a range of issues on language, language acquisition and learning, communication in contemporary context of use. Therefore, here, we announce that EJAL will no longer accept papers whose focus is language teacher education. Those papers on the same research topic which have already been submitted to the journal before 2020, passed the editorial screening and sent to external reviewers will complete the review process as outlined in “Peer Review Process” policy.

It is hoped that this careful decision to reclarify the scope of the journal will stimulate even more submissions from the applied linguistics community on a wide range of issues that will help understand, identify, solve our real-life problems resulting from language-related causes.

Happy New Year

Dear EJAL friends,

Thank you for your continuous interest in Eurasian Journal of Applied Linguistics (EJAL). Some of you may already be aware that we have experienced many technical problems that were difficult to overcome with our existing website ejal.eu. We eventually have managed to solve all these technical issues which gave us no more choice but to change the domain and server of our website. That’s why we have started and will continue to serve our editorial process and responsibility at ejal.info since November, 2019. EJAL is ready to carry out the submission and review process of previously submitted and new manuscripts on language teaching and learning from 2020.

We wish you a happy and successful New Year,

EJAL Editorial Team
